Dollar General is hosting another week – long Clearance Event from Friday, May 16 through Thursday, May 22, 2025!
If you’re a couponer, deal hunter, or just someone who loves saving BIG, this is a weekend you do not want to miss.
Here’s everything you need to know:
WHO:
Everyone! This event will be going on at Dollar General locations nationwide. And yes, I mean all locations.
Do not get me wrong – 99.9% of employees are amazing (not to mention, kind) but there are sometimes a few bad apples in the bunch.
If they tell you that your store isn’t doing this, I can’t tell you to not believe them.
What I can tell you is that if you set your location in the app and enter the UPC for one of the visuals below and it comes up as 50% off at your location, then every product on clearance will be 50% off – but it’s up to YOU to find the correct products.
WHAT:
Dollar General’s Clearance Events are an additional 50% off already reduced clearance items.
That means clearance items will ring up half off the sticker price! This includes items in the clearance section as well as core items marked with clearance tags throughout the store.
Even better? Most digital coupons and Dollar General promotions stack during this sale—so with the right prep, your out-of-pocket can be extremely low.
WHEN:
Friday, May 16 through Thursday, May 22, 2025 – Doors open at normal store hours.
WHERE:
All Dollar Generals. Some locations may have larger clearance sections than others, and inventory can and will vary.
WHY:
This is a corporate-led seasonal clearance event, designed to move out discontinued products, overstock, and seasonal merchandise.
It happens a few times a year, and each one offers incredible savings opportunities—especially when paired with coupons, rebate apps, and store promotions.
HOW:
- Do your homework beforehand. Don’t just run in and grab product you “think” is on sale then come back to cuss me out because you didn’t pay attention to detail.
- Use your Dollar General app to scan for real-time pricing – many items are unmarked but still ring up with the discount.
- Stack coupons – Clip Dollar General digital coupons in the app and look out for manufacturer coupons and rebate offers.
- Combine with $5 off $25 on Saturday – If you’re shopping on May 17, use the $5/$25 digital coupon to maximize savings.
